ICANN Organized an outreach meeting in Nairobi on Monday 8th September at the Panafric Hotel. The meeting targetted the local business community and was hosted by Bob Ochieng', ICANN's Manager, Stakeholder Engagement - East Africa. In attendance was Chris Mondini, ICANN's VP, Stakeholder Engagement North America and Global Business. Bob briefed the meeting on the status of ICANN's Africa Strategy. Chris gave a presentation on the recently released Boston Consulting Group Report on "E-friction Analysis" entitled 'Greasing the Wheels of the Internet Economy" - which led to a lively floor discussion particularly on its coverage of the Kenyan scene. Finally a panel discussion featuring Chris, Ali Hussein of 3-Mice Interactive and Waudo Siganga from the Computer Society of Kenya (see pic left to right respectively) was held on the topic "Why the Private Sector Needs to Engage with ICANN".
